Our community-focused dance programming welcomes dancers with a variety of physical, developmental, sensory, learning, and communication differences. We understand that every dancer learns differently, and our team is dedicated to creating an inclusive dance class experience tailored to each individual's comfort level and needs. Families are encouraged to communicate with our staff so we can best support each dancer’s success in this dance for every ability.
We understand that every family’s schedule and comfort level is different. To help make dance accessible and stress-free, we offer a community-focused dance class with drop-in enrollment. This inclusive dance class is designed to cater to dance for every ability, ensuring that everyone feels welcome.
Drop-in participation is a wonderful option for dancers who:
- Are trying dance for the first time
- Benefit from a more flexible schedule
- May need time adjusting to a new environment
- Want to explore movement at their own pace
Advance registration is encouraged for all drop-in dancers to ensure we have waivers and necessary paperwork completed before class.
At HCDC, we believe that community focused dance has the power to build confidence, connection, and community. Throughout the season, dancers of every ability may have opportunities to participate in optional local performances and community events designed to create positive, encouraging experiences both on and off the stage. Our inclusive dance classes are geared towards fostering these connections.
Potential opportunities may include:
- local community festivals
- holiday performances
- studio showcases
- charity and outreach events
- assisted living/community center performances
- family observation days
- end-of-season recital participation
